Toronto joins the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada with a full program of activities to enjoy throughout the year. Here are some of Latinos Magazine’s recommendations for places to celebrate this accomplishment.
• Cultural Hotspot
An initiative of East York Arts and Culture that includes My City My Six, a popular art project about participation at an urban level.
• Canada 150: Discover Way
The Ontario Science Center presents an exhibition on the stories behind the Canadian inventions that have transformed the world, from the bulb to the flight recorder.
• Canada Mosaic
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra joins the celebration with a completely Canadian musical repertoire, from rock to classical music with special presentations and collaborations.
• Canada on Screen
The Toronto International Film Festival features a free program with the best of Canadian cinema. The films will be shown in the TIFF Bell Lightbox.
• Redpath Waterfront Festival
From July 1 to 3, a complete thematic celebration about Canada will take place that includes nautical programs, live music and food from various parts of the world.

Two incredible Canadian-themed exhibitions are featured in the historic St Lawrence Market, Becoming Canadian in Toronto: Snapshots through Time and Maple Leaf Forever: Toronto’s Take on a National Symbol.
